GOURLEY FAMILY REUNION 2007

Volleyball
With a 4' net, even I can spike!
Go Jolynn!!!
Stephen, thought it was a pro-beach volleyball game!
To get things rollin' we all gathered at the Gourley's for a bbq and then thanks to Matt & Jen and their $15 yard game set we were able to enjoy a little volleyball. As you can see the net was the perfect height. Ha Ha- $15 well spent. Stephen, Jackie, Tiff and Dad were the winners. I think it must have been Stephen's pro-beach serving, or else the fact that Julie, on the other team, was wearing white pants. You can decide.
Grandma and the Great Grandparents were left to wrangle the children!!!

On Tuesday we brought every out to watch Abby & Taylor have soccer practice, then we all gathered back at our house for some sandwiches and more yard games. This time it was a lasso ball tournament. I don't know who won, but I think it might have been Stephen. Go figure!!! The kids enjoyed the swinset and playing with their aunts.

On Wednesday we ventured down to the Water Park of America, there were a couple who decided to go shooting instead, but we all had a great time. The kids especially loved the splash park with the little slides, while the adults enjoyed the lazy river and the tube slides. I wouldn't recommend riding with Stephen, he tries to tip it over. I kept Ally on my lap, and that way no one could hold me under the water falls, cuz she would cry. Can't make a baby cry. I heard there were a couple of us that would try to hold others under the falls. I won't mention any names, but Aunt Jen and Aunt Julie shouldn't turn their backs next year. I hear people are looking for revenge. There was also knee boarding, which Stephen tried, not quite sure how that was. Afterwards we all went back to the Gourley's where Uncle Matt & Aunt Jen treated us to some hot dogs, beans, and cheese, by Jolynn's request. It was delicious, and so were the cookies we had for dessert.

On Thursday we all went to Canterbury Downs, for $1 night. We enjoyed hot dogs, chips and pop which were all each $1. Then we moseyed on outside to watch some horse races. The kids enjoyed seeing the horses and races up close. I think my kids are kind of chickens compared to the rest, not sure where they get that from. We didn't put money down on any horses, and it is probably a good thing because the ones I would have picked never did very well anyways. Personally I think they could have had all the races over and done with in about an hour instead of three hours. They had way too long between each race, but the kids enjoyed running all over the place and the giant playset they had.
A Day at the lake

Four Wheelin'
Brain Freeze!!!
Hangin' with Great Papa
To wrap things up we all took the two hour drive north to the cabin in McGregor. Some headed up early in the morning others lounged around all day playing cards and went up after supper. There is always lots to do at the cabin. We had another Lasso Ball tournament and Jolynn claims to be the winner, not quite sure how that worked out. We also went swimming and four wheeling and had a few more bbq's. We were also treated to the famous biscuits and gravy for breakfast by Aunt Julie and Aunt Tippy. Tiffany started out cooking, but after being micro-managed by Julie she quit and Julie turned to Great Grandma for directions on how to finish them. They turned out great so we can give credit to all three. For some reason, unknown to all of us ahead of time there was no hot water at the cabin. I am sure Papa kept that a secret on purpose, some of chose not to shower, others cleaned up with wet wipes, and one of us, Jolynn, decided to wash her hair with the hose and the help of Tiffany. After the brain freeze wore off, her hair looked fabulous, but no one else decided to try it too.
CAN'T WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!

SOCCER

Abby has started soccer, and she absolutely loves it, she was quite sad the time it was cancelled due to the weather. She also knows the #1 rule in soccer is no touching the ball with your hands. I think we have a star athlete on our hands!!!
