So everytime I paint Abby's and my toes I make sure that Ally is napping and doesn't see, however one Sunday I tried to sneek and do mine before church quick, and I got caught. I ended up having to do all of ours. Ally was so proud of her little piggies, she showed them to everyone. Sorry about the pics, but Abby was our photographer for the event.
All done!

The Boat

Amy, Amy, Cory & Me
A few weeks back we had the opportunity to go sailing with our good friends, the Oelkers. We had never been sailing, so we weren't quite sure what to expect, but it was so much fun and so relaxing. The weather was absolutely perfect, we even jumped in to cool off for a bit. The sail boat was gigantic, and at first I wasn't sure we were all going to fit, but once we realized you just sit on the top of it, there was plenty of room for all. The boat was built by a friend of theirs' father, and you could have lived on it. It had a downstairs with a kitchen and a bathroom. It was so cool. We had sort of a picnic supper, and you had to be sure to hang on to your stuff or you would lose it to the water. I was even brave enough to go out in front of the mast for a few pics, although it wasn't funny when the wind picked up a bit and I thought I was going to fall in. I also thought it was funny that when the wind changed directions the sails would switch sides and you had to be sure and duck or you would end up in the water. Luckily that didn't happen to any of us. So Thank You to the Oelkers for inviting us, and Happy Birthday to Amy!!! We had a blast!!

Abby is very proud of herself she taught herself to ride her bike in one night. We went for a walk and her friend Sam down the street had taken her training wheels off and Abby asked if she could try her bike. So for about 20 minutes she tried to ride in their garage. When it was time to go home she asked me if I would clear out our garage and take her training wheels off. So I did, and in about five minutes she came in and said Mom come out and see. I went out and I couldn't believe it. She could do it. She told me it was a good thing Sam taught her how. I totally agree because I have no idea how to teach a kid to ride a bike. She rode it all the way around the block last night to show off:) Now I have to buy her a bigger bike, I told her at the begining of summer I would buy her a barbie bike when she learned how to ride without training wheels. I had no idea that would come so soon!

We decided to go spend some time up at the cabin this year to celebrate the 4th of July. We went swimming, saw fireworks, rode four wheelers, boat rides, roasted marshmallows, and Abby even tried tubing for the first time. Which she loved!! We all had lots of FUN spending time with Great grandma, Great Papa, Grandma, Papa, Aunts, Uncles, and lots of cousins. On the last day we went up to the dam, and we saw a giant snapping turtle, which I had never seen before, and I couldn't believe how mean it was. Luckily the park host/hostess stopped us before we got up to it, I was going to show the kids the giant turtle....not a good idea. They used a shovel to try and get it back into the swamp instead of heading towards the playground, and the thing would bite the shovel, thanks to Papa though he got back in the swamp. Ally is not a fan of boat or four wheeler rides, she cried the entire time on both. But she does like fireworks, and swimming. She would scream with delight after each firework she saw.
OUR CAMPER
My cousin has a camper that is parked at the cabin, so that is where we slept. Abby and Ally loved it, it had everything including a shower & toilet. Abby wondered why we ever went in the cabin, we could have lived in there all week. The kitchen table folded down into a bed the perfect size for the two girls, although Ally played musical beds most of the night. It was just too exciting for her to get to sleep in a big bed with Abby. Ally is kind of a bed hog and Abby ended up on the floor at 2 am the first night. But they still wanted to sleep together, even though there was two other beds they could have slept in.
SWIMMING
Maddie, Hannah, Abby, Ally, Mara & Payton(running off)
SANDY TOES
All the girls decided to bury Stephen in the sand.....Curt decided they were doing it too neatly and he needed to help speed up this process.
FOUR WHEELIN'
ROASTIN' MARSHMALLOWS
Abby decided to try and roast her own marshmallow this time...
Ally thought roasting a marshamllow was a waste of time, when you could just open up a candy bar and get right to the good part:)
